As a deeply creative person, I’ve constantly sought an outlet for my artistic side. My interests include design, style, writing, hosting events, curating, sourcing, marketing, architecture. I also realized I’ve always gotten a thrill by finding a good deal, an unusual vintage piece, or that highly sought after item that’s impossible to find. In recent years, my friends were constantly struck by how often I sourced vintage or second-hand items (at an amazing price). The hunt for a special item is half of the fun to me.​And like many women, when I became a mom, my own needs (especially those that weren’t up there with showering and sleeping) took a back seat. As my boys have gotten older, I found myself feeling a little lost and without that creative outlet. I continually sought to do something that blended the things I loved (and felt I was good at). And that’s when the idea of Club Deuxième was born.​Deuxième (pronounced duh-zee-em) is the French word for “second.” Organized quarterly, Club Deuxième gathers like-minded friends for shopping and sips, with a special focus on all things second-hand.​Each event features a curated mix of vintage, luxury, and other fine goods (clothing, jewelry, interiors) relating to that event’s theme. Items come from all over: from my personal closet, from years of travel, and from my favorite sources.
