With New York’s latest Fashion Week (Fall/Winter 2025) finishing up, I decided to pour over the shows/campaigns and start grouping specific styling or items I saw repeatedly.
I eventually identified 10 trends (that fit into my personal style POV). Here are the first 5, and how I plan to incorporate them into my wardrobe.
NYFW Fall/Winter 2025: Polka Dots
When I see polka dots, I immediately think of playfulness, which seems like something we’d all be searching for in today’s unrest. I plan to incorporate sparingly, using accessories like a scarf or socks.

NYFW Fall/Winter 2025: Gloves
Gloves aren’t going anywhere - in fact, I think we’re seeing more iterations of them. Bright colors, puffy nylon, croc embossed, leather, mesh, wrist-length, opera-length. I plan to continue wearing gloves with pushed up arms on a blazer or coat, but I want to push myself to wear them with strapless or sleeveless looks, too.
And while it’s not from NYFW, I love how Simon Porte Jacquemus styled them during the Jacquemus show (draped over a purse) for an added touch of color or texture.

NYFW Fall/Winter 2025: Neck Nonchalance
This is one of my favorite trends happening during NYFW and in street style. Instead of using a traditional scarf, or even a necklace, to accessorize, we’re seeing sweaters/shawls thrown nonchalantly around necks. It adds such a layer of depth through shape and texture.
The important thing here is that we’re not trying a sweater around our neck like we’re playing croquet in a 90s J. Crew catalog. This is messy, chill, and meant to play with shapes and form.
Already playing with this in my closet.

NYFW Fall/Winter 2025: Asymmetry (Especially of Accessories)
While we’re seeing a lot of asymmetry in clothing (silhouettes, necklines, hems), I noticed a lot in accessories, too. Belts worn off to the side, a single long earring, collars pinned off-center with a brooch. I love how much this can turn a super lady-like outfit on it’s head. The unexpected and edginess added to a classic outfit will always be my jam. I absolutely love the single opera-length glove, too.

NYFW Fall/Winter 2025: Chartreuse
While I’m clearly a neutral-leaning dresser, I love an off-beat color. This season, I’m seeing lots of chartreuse. It’s fresh and vibrant, without being a “bright” primary color.
I don’t know if I’d ever pair it with black (which gives a bold, strong look), but I love it with my favorite non-color colors: olive greens, taupes, browns, and khaki/beiges.
